Estate and Estate Tax Planning

Estate planning is the process by which your property is distributed to your heirs in an organized and thoughtful manner. An estate plan aims to preserve the maximum amount of wealth possible for the intended recipients in the most flexible manner possible, while still complying with all federal and state tax laws.

The goals of estate planning are to make sure the greatest amount of your estate passes to your designated beneficiaries; to provide for your children, especially minors who will need a guardian; and to plan for possible incapacity.

Wills and trusts are a common way to distribute wealth. Trusts have the added benefit of avoiding probate. Probate can sometimes be a lengthy and expensive legal process, so the more planning you do now, the less your family members will have to deal with later.

Our job is to help you sort through the maze of laws and develop a plan that will allow you to live your life and distribute your assets in the way you choose. To set up a consultation, call 508-853-1900.
